En nuestro último especial de agosto relativo a los 15 años de Acto de Fe realizamos un homenaje al Isle Of Wight Festival de 1970, , el más grande festival de su era y probablemente de todos los tiempos. Entre los días 26 y 31 de agosto de 1970 se llevó a cabo en la isla al sur de Inglaterra, cuya población de unos 100 mil habitantes tuvo que recibir a más de 600 mil hippies y freaks. Era el tercero luego de las ediciones de 1968 y 69. En el primer festival la atraccion fue Jefferson Airplane. Asistieron 10 mil. Luego Bob Dylan fue la estrella en su primer concierto luego de su accidente en moto de 1966. Fueron 150 mil personas.

Pero la tercera edición rompió todas las estimaciones posibles, estimulado por el exito de Woodstock un años antes. Durante 4 días (que se extendieron a 5 porque el festival terminó en la mañána del lunes 31 con Richie Havens versionando Here Comes The Sun) se juntaron grandes nombres del momento (The Who, Moody Blues, Procol Harum, Jethro Tull, John Sebastian, Joan Baez, Leonard Cohen, Jimi Hendrix, Donovan, Sly & THe Family Stone, Ten Years After, The Doors) con bandas que apenas comenzaban como Chicago, Family, Supertramp, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Free.....

El festival fue un fracaso económico y logístico por lo que significó. Tanto que no se volvió a realizar hasta 32 años después. Desde 2002 ha venido realizándose regularmente.

Después de este festival pasarían años para que se realizase otro de similares características. Antes de finalizar aquel año 70, Jimi Hendrix y Janis Joplin habían muerto. El fin de la utopia hippie se desvanecía.
