Durante los pasados dias 15,16,17 y 18 de agosto se cumplieron 40 años de la realización del más famoso e icónico de los Festivales de Rock: el "Festival de Arte y Música de Woodstock: 3 días de páz y música". Con un cartel que incluyó a buena parte de lo más inportante del rock y el folk de aquellos años, Woodstock fue entendido para recibir a unas 100 mil personas, pero acudió medio millón. La logistica fue desbordada, los accesos colapsaron y la mayoría entró gratis. Fue entendido para realizarse entre el viernes 15 y el domingo 17 pero las continuas lluvias -agunas tormentosas- retrasaron la agenda a tal punto que el cierre del festival a cargo de Jimi Hendrix comenzó el lunes 18 a las 9 de la mañana. 4 dias de amor libre, hermandad, droga y excelente música. Los organizadores hicieron milagros con los aspectos técnicos, con una tecnología todavia precaria para presentar un espectáculo de tales características. El Festival fue un fracaso económico, pero un éxito mediático. Con el transcurrir de los años las cosas cambiaron gracias a la pelicula estrenada en 1970 que ganó el Oscar como mejor documental, ahora reeditada con escenas inéditas. Las ventas del disco (originalmente doble LP, luego cuadruple CD en el 25 aniversario y ahora un box set de 6 CDs) recuperaron las finanzas, asi como todo lo que tiene que ver con memorabilia.

En apenas dos horas no da tiempo para mostrar demasiado, por ello hemos realizado una selección representativa que incluye emblemáticos performances de Richie Havens, Country Joe McDonnald, Tim Hardim, Arlo Guthrie, Joan Baez, Santana, Cannet Heat, Janis Joplin, Credence Clearwater Revival, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Joe Cocker, Ten Years After, The Band, Johnny Winter, Crosby Stills Nash & Young y Jimi Hendrix.

A 40 años aun se mantienen inéditas muchas de las piezas que se tocaron, las cuales han circulado en versiones no oficiales, con sonido deficiente. EL reciente Box Set contiene 8 horas de musica, que representa 1/5 de lo interpretado.

"This ain't no party, this ain't no disco, this ain't no fooling around… No time for dancing” Life During Wartime (D.Byrne/Talking Heads, 1979)

Este especial de Acto de Fe estará dedicado a Talking Heads, una de las más importantes agrupaciones surgidas en cualquier tiempo de Estados Unidos. Desde su formación en 1975 en Nueva York, de la mano de David Byrne (Voz, guitarra y principal compositor), Chris Frantz (Batería, percusión) y Tina Weymouth (Bajo, coros), a quienes se unió Jerry Harrison (teclados) al momento de editar su debut en 1977. En la epoca punk TH se erigió como uno de las puntas del iceberg neoyorquino, gracias en especial al carisma y forma de cantar de Byrne. Para el momento de lanzar su segundo disco, More Songs About Buildings and Food (1978) ya contaban con la producción de Brian Eno, quien se convertiría en elemento fundamental para los dos siguientes discos, Fear of Music (1979) y Remail in Light (1980), dos trabajos impregnados de afro beat y funk que permanecen como dos de lo más grandes e innovadores capítulos de la música de nuestro tiempo. En aquella gira de 1980 cada instrumento contó con un segundo intrumentista invitado, entre ellos Adrian Belew, que un año despues seria parte de la nueva encarnacion de King Crimson.

Durante los 11 años de existencia, Talking Heads se paseó por el punk, el afro beat, el funk, el folk rock, el pop melódico, el country folk e introdujo la poliritmia dentro de las estructuras pop. Su obra comprende 8 discos de estudio y 2 en vivo. Haremos un recorrido cronológico con material en vivo y en estudio, con algunas grabaciones inéditas y demos.

Siguiendo con el ciclo del 14 aniversario este programa es un especial dedicado a King Crimson, una da las agrupaciones más importantes y emblemáticas de la historia del rock, cuyo primer disco "In The Court of Crimson King" cumple 40 años de editado. De la mano del gruitarrista y compositor Robert Fripp, Crimson es una de las pocas bandas del llamado rock progresivo que ha podido reinventarse a traves del tiempo, sin beber necesariamente de sus glorias pasadas. Repasaremos esa trayectoria, para lo cual hemos escogido grabaciones inéditas, demos y muchas presentaciones en vivo, una faceta fundamental en la existencia de KC.

Comenzamos el ciclo de celebración de los 14 años de la primera emisión de Acto de Fe con un especial sobre Brian Eno, uno de los personajes más importantes e influyentes de la música de nuestro tiempo. Eno ha sido constante protagonista de la evolución de la música pop y electrónica, tanto el en rol de músico (o no-músico, como el le gusta definirse) como en el de conceptualista y productor (devo, ultravox, talking heads, james, u2 y un largo etcétera). Sus aportes han sido diversos y trascendentes, desde su irrupción como teclista de Roxy Music, agrupación de la que salió porque Brian Ferry pensaba que le robaba protagonismo con sus sintetizadores y extraños atuendos llenos de colorido y plumajes. Después de esos dos discos, Eno emprendería una carrera en 1973 llena de aciertos en la que han participado algunos de los músicos más interesantes de su momento (Percy Jones, Jaki Liebezeit, Phil Collins, Robert Wyatt, Paul Rudolph, Bill McCormick, Dave Mattacks, Bill Laswell, Neil Catchpole y muchisimos más)

Escucharemos material de sus proyectos en solitario o en colaboración con una diversidad de artistas a lo largo de varias décadas (hassell, byrne, fripp, wooble, manzanera, cluster, harmonia, cale, james, etc)

Programa dedicado a revisar un interesante período transicional en la histpria de la música pop. A finales de la década de los 80 y principios de los 90 la guitarra recuperó parte del protagonismo que habia perdido durante buena parte de los 80, década en la que la nueva generación de teclados, cajas ritmicas, samplers y baterias electronicas dominaban la escena.

Wall of sounds, shoegazing, pop guitarrero, etc etc. Oiremos bandas de Inglaterra, Escocia, Irlanda, Estados Unidos y Alemania, algunas de ellas olvidadas por el tiempo y con sonido bastante actual.
